Course Description - AP Chemistry is a second-year chemistry course that is designed for highly motivated students with strong interests and abilities in science and mathematics, especially those who are considering the fields of empirical science/research, medicine, or engineering. Topics are synonymous to those taught in entry-level chemistry courses at most colleges and universities, such as atomic theory, intramolecular bonding/intermolecular forces, chemical reaction-writing, kinetics, thermodynamics, and chemical equilibrium. Laboratory experiments are in the style of guided inquiry and utilizes advanced analytical techniques and instruments. Students are encouraged to take the AP exam given in May each year.

Prerequisites: Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, and Algebra II Honors. Concurrent enrollment in Precalculus (or higher) is recommended.

Midterm Exam Information

Period 6 - WEDNESDAY, 11:30AM

You will be taking a full-length exam in which questions that you should know how to answer will be circled. There will be 60 multiple choice questions (of which about 30 you should know how to answer) and 7 free-response questions (of which about 3-4 you should know how to answer). You are free to answer any uncircled questions! The exam will be 90 minutes. Please review your LM1, LM2, LM3, and LM4 packets!
